Showing off our sticks and stones baby….

Lost Mule Lodge
…A journey that began with a cabin in the woods

You remember how you felt when had your first baby? – You were insane with happiness and you were absolutely certain there was never a more beautiful baby EVER born in the history of the universe. You were so out of control you began to question your own sanity as you found yourself showing off those beautiful baby pictures to a lady in aisle 4 by the jars of pickles.

Yep, been there…

That describes the passion we have for our land, our home, all of our critters and this new chapter of our lives.

The very fact that you are reading this – fills us with exhilaration. We cannot wait to share the lessons we’ve learned and the creative skills we have developed, and most of all for you to get a glimpse into our bubble of tranquility.

Okay, we were talking about showing off pictures…

See the photo of our home at the top of this page? See how similar it looks to our logo??  Here is a look side by side.

Right about now, I bet you are wondering “how did she do that?” Or, maybe not.

Either way – I will tell you exactly how I did that – first a special thanks to my niece – a marketing genius.  Somehow I just new she would have an instant answer to what I needed.

It is an app – who knew, right?  You will find similar apps out there, but this is the one I used.  It is called “Waterlogue” the cost is $3.99 from the App Store (the app does not do the text on the photo) – It was exactly what I pictured!  I experimented with several photos of our house and liked the results of this winter scene best for our logo.  Thank you to my Sweet Niece Lauren for telling me about it!  Here is another original photo and after the Waterlogue App – pretty cool huh?

Okay, that right there…  did you see how I did that?  This is a blog about “Lifestyle” and I am talking about how to change your photos into watercolor looking masterpieces!  So random – but yet useful, I mean – what doesn’t fit under the category of “Lifestyle”?

We hope you will soon love this blog as much as we love sharing it with you.  Perhaps you will be inspired with an idea or maybe you will read something that makes you smile or better yet LAUGH!!

I can promise you the topics will be random, but never boring.  You will see everything from our passion for life to our kitchen sink….  Hey, have you SEEN my kitchen sink?  Seriously, you will love it – it is so unique!!!  Here is just a peek…

So grab a seat, take another sip of coffee and think of this blog as a moment for yourself in a chaotic world.

Oh and the lady in aisle 4, by the pickles – yes, I really did talk to her and it was only 23 seconds before I was showing off photos of our Sticks and Stones Baby…  she loved the pictures so much that she came for a tour last Thursday morning, we sipped coffee and snacked on some sweet gherkins.

Hey Melanie – Thank you for signing up – Mary Kay shares our story well – as she has been there for every step. As much as I enjoy our isolation I do miss the social life. I am thinking this blog may fill that void for me.
