Typically I am not into antiques.  But this Hoosier cabinet was the perfect solution for our storage issues in the cabin kitchen.  Back when the cabin was our weekend retreat, the kitchen only had one upper cabinet, and we used that for storing food.  Our 2 cups, 4 bowls, 4 plates and some mismatched glassware were beautifully showcased in our newly refurbished Hoosier cabinet.  It was the crown jewel of that kitchen.

Question: I love my mom because…..?   Answer: “I Love Her Heart.”  That was our 4 year old grandson’s answer.  I melted into a puddle.  And when his momma received the card from him and read his answers to the various questions – she felt loved, she laughed and she cried happy tears.  It was a TRIFECTA!!!

That Old Thing…

There were only two things I loved about this old door, the arched glass windows.  Both of them.  The minute I saw it I envisioned a gorgeous vintage door with faux stained glass in stunning ambers and frost.

My friend was looking at me through squinted eyes – actually she was looking at my pre-teen forehead, when she asked, “You realize you have a maxi pad taped to your forehead?”  Oddly enough, she was not that surprised.  The extreme measures I took to straighten my curly hair had become her entertainment.
